GOLD RIVER, Calif. — The UC San Diego women's rowing team got its spring season going this weekend as it competed in Sacramento State's Hornet Invite on Lake Natoma.
Also racing were Cal Poly Humboldt and Kansas State.
The Tritons earned a pair of wins, starting with the varsity 4 on Saturday. They posted a time of 8:14.2, topping Sacramento State and Cal Poly Humboldt as well as Sacramento State's second varsity 4.
In other Saturday races, UC San Diego finished second in the varsity 8 and second varsity 8.
Sunday, the Tritons' second varsity 8 finished first in 7:28.3. Cal Poly Humboldt was second and Kansas State crossed the line in third.
UC San Diego took second in the varsity 4 and third in the varsity 8.
