LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego Athletics is in the midst of its second season of the Between Two Zooms video series. In season two, fans get the opportunity to hear from scholar-athletes and members of the Triton community.
Today's edition features Julia Macabuhay, a junior guard on the Triton women's basketball team. Macabuhay, a Los Angeles native, is a psychology major at Marshall College. The Triton co-captain was named a WBCA All-American after her impressive performance during the 2019-20 season. Macabuhay was also named a UC San Diego Athlete of the Year for 2019-20, and was selected to the Division II All-West Region First Team, All-CCAA First Team, and the CCAA All-Tournament Team. Macabuhay spoke with ESPN play-by-play broadcaster Steve Quis to discuss the upcoming season, the recent Big West announcement, and social injustices that have been happening throughout the country.
