ARCATA, Calif. ? The UC San Diego men's soccer team played to its second double overtime tie of the 2007 season, battling with host Humboldt State for 110 scoreless minutes before ending with a 0-0 score on Friday afternoon in Arcata. With the tie the Tritons' record goes to 2-7-2 overall and 1-4-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play while the Lumberjacks' record moves to 5-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in league action.

UCSD took eight shots in the match, forcing HSU netminders Drew Ryan and Duvid Bussen to make one save each. Bussen's save came during the first half while Ryan, who played the final 65 minutes of the match, made his save in the 108th minute of the second overtime period.

The ?Jacks took 19 shots on the day, seven of which were saved by Triton goalkeeper Peter Akman. Three of those seven saves came in the final three minutes of the second overtime period. The shutout was Akman's second of the season, the first of which came in the 0-0 double overtime draw at home against CSU Monterey Bay on September 14.

Jonathan Sawyer, Shane Micheil and Tony Choi each took two shots in the match for the Tritons, accounting for all but two of the team's shots. Newcomers Jason Le and Jared Kukura accounted for the other UCSD shots on the day.

Despite playing only 35 minutes for HSU, Roland Demombynes took the highest number of shots in the match, launching five towards the goal, three of which were stopped by Akman. Mark Nelson and Jon Eseman were the next two highest shot takers on the day for the Lumberjacks, taking three apiece.

Interim head coach Paul Holohan and his team concludes their current four-match road trip on Sunday with a match at Sonoma State. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. in Rohnert Park.
