• UC San Diego's Director of Athletics for 24 years (1975-00)
• During her career, the program moved from NAIA to NCAA D-III status and prepped for the transition to NCAA D-II, which happened a year after her departure
• UCSD won 26 of its 30 national championships during her tenure
• First female president of the NCAA (elected in 1991)
• NCAA Senior Vice President of Championships (2001-06)
• Served on more than 20 NCAA committees
• NACDA and NACWAA Board of Directors
• U.S. Sports Academy Board of Trustees
• Helped found and was Co-Director of Alliance of Women's Coaches
• NACDA D-III Athletics Director of the Year (1998-99)
• Honda Award for Outstanding Achievement in Women's Athletics (1998)
• NACWAA Administrator of the Year (1992)
• Named one of the NCAA's 100 most influential student-athletes (2006)
• Won NACDA's James J. Corbett Memorial Award for service (2006)
• Named as one of the world's most influential sports educators by the Institute for International Sports (2007)
• Member of the University of Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame (1969 graduate)
• UCSD Meritorious Service Award (1994)
• Currently the Co-Director at the Alliance of Women Coaches
