LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego Athletics announces upcoming 2026-27 Triton Basketball Coaches Road Show, set for two dates in August across San Diego County.
The Tritons are preparing for their final season as a member of The Big West, before transitioning to the West Coast Conference in 2027-28. The UC San Diego men's and women's basketball programs have combined for three conference titles and two regular season titles in two years of Division I eligibility and will look for another strong showing in 2026-27.
Each stop will feature live interviews with UC San Diego basketball head coaches
Clint Allard '08 and
Heidi VanDerveer, as well as a meet and greet, spirit squad and mascot appearances, drink discounts and light appetizers for those that RSVP.
The first stop will be on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Pitchers Sports Bar in Rancho Penasquitos. The Tritons will gather again at PRK 101 in Carlsbad on Monday, Aug. 17. Both dates are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are free to attend with advance registration.
Last year, Tritons men's basketball won 23 games—the second-most in the program's Division I era—under first year head coach
Clint Allard '08. UC San Diego was second in The Big West in scoring defense and assist-turnover ratio and third in scoring margin. This year's squad includes 10 returners from that team, along with six newcomers.
The Triton women went 24-9 overall—their best record in Division I—and finished 17-3 in Big West play for a share of their first regular season conference title. UC San Diego went on to win the Big West Championship to become back-to-back tournament champions and punch their ticket to a second consecutive NCAA Tournament. UC San Diego will return seven Tritons from the 2025-26 championship squad and add seven talented newcomers this fall.
