Allegre Earns Top Freshman Honor, Four Recognized by Big West

LA JOLLA, Calif. – A handful of UC San Diego scholar-athletes have been honored by The Big West as the conference announced its women's tennis postseason awards on Thursday afternoon. True freshman Olivia Allegre was named Freshman of the Year and All-Big West First-Team singles, graduate student Hana Gamracy and freshman Carling Allaye-Chan, along with Allegre and Julia Visaya were named All-Big West Honorable Mentions for doubles play.

After a dominant freshman season, going 6-3 in conference, all at the No. 1 position, Olivia Allegre was named the first UC San Diego Freshman of the Year in the Big West. The tandem was paired together during the beginning of the season and latter half of conference play, posting a 4-2 record in Big West matches. Overall, they were 8-6 on the season, 5-0 at No. 2. Gamracy, tied with Allegre and Visaya, led the team in doubles played recording 20 overall.

Alongside Allegre, Visaya earned her first All-Big West recognition for their doubles play. The pair finished 10-10, playing all but one match at No. 1. In conference doubles, the duo finished 2-5, all at No. 1. They were the winningest pair on the Tritons squad this season.

The Tritons competed in the 2026 Big West Championship as the nine seed, facing Long Beach State in the opening round.
