LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego (5-8) claimed their first Big West win Wednesday, March 4, in a road match at UC Riverside (3-9). The Tritons move to 1-3 in conference after topping the Highlanders, 6-1. The Tritons took the lead early in doubles, extending it through five singles wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons took the doubles point quickly with victories at No. 1 and 2.
Carling Allaye-Chan and
Hana Gamracy had a decisive 6-0 win over their opponents at No. 2.
Alisa Lansky and
Allison Lian took the No. 1 court with a 6-3 scoreline, clinching the point for UC San Diego.
Olivia Allegre and
Kamya Nair were on No. 3; their match was left unfinished where they led 5-2.

In singles competition, UC San Diego took three courts in straight sets, No. 3, 4, and 6, to decide the match in favor of the Tritons. At. No. 6 Nair earned the second point for the Tritons with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Following her,
Alisa Lansky downed her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at. No. 3. At No. 4, Gamracy clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

The only point for the Highlanders came at No. 2, where Allaye-Chan was defeated 7-5, 6-1. At No. 1 Allegre extended the Tritons lead with a three-set comeback resulting in a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 final scoreline. Finishing the match,
Allison Lian finished victorious at No. 5, 6-4, 7-5.
