FULLERTON, Calif. — The second weekend of the outdoor track and field season saw UC San Diego split between two meets, with the Tritons enjoying success at both. A total of seven events were won and four school records were set between the meets in Fullerton and San Diego.

Jumps, sprints and throws competed at Cal State Fullerton's Ben Brown Invitational on Thursday and Friday. Distance and pole vault competed at San Diego State's Aztec Coastal Track Classic & Distance Carnival on Friday.

The field team led the Tritons' top performances in Fullerton.
Zach Lewis won two events on Friday, claiming the men's discus title at 54.83m and the men's shot put title at 16.92m. His discus mark beat his own school record.

Fellow thrower
Feyi Olukanni also won the women's shot put event. Her throw of 15.47m is good for a new school record.

On the jumps side,
Chidiebere Agunanne shot up to second all-time at UC San Diego with a result of 12.47m in women's triple jump. The junior won the event with that effort and also set a new stadium record in the process.

One school record was set on the track courtesy of the men's 4x100m relay team.
Jordan Agbettor,
Brandon Orlow,
Antrell Harris and
Jack Mullen combined to run 40.24, finishing third in the event. Orlow was the only scholar-athlete on the team that is not a freshman.

AZTEC COASTAL CLASSIC
The Tritons started the distance carnival with a pair of wins in the 800m.
Evan Gardner won the men's race in 1:51.50, followed by
Allyson Abandonato claiming the women's race with a time of 2:06.68. Abandonato's time beat her own school record by over two seconds.

Sylvana Northrop then won her second event in as many weeks, this time winning the women's 5,000m. Her time of 16:24.59 beat second place by 22 seconds.

Pole vault represented the field squad for the Tritons at San Diego State. Freshman
Bella Di Silvestri finished ninth and moved up to fourth all-time in school history with a mark of 3.82m.
Chance Rynearson was the top performer on the men's side, finishing third after clearing 4.88m.
