LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego (4-8) lost a close match to Cal State Fullerton (7-2) with a final score of 3-4 on Saturday at the Northview Tennis Courts. UC San Diego secured singles victories at the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 positions but fell short in the doubles competition, which ultimately decided the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons dropped the doubles point to the Titans after splitting the first two courts 1-1. On court No. 1 doubles, Allegre and
Julia Visaya secured a victory with a 6-4 scoreline. However, Lansky and Lian concluded their match at No. 2 doubles with a 4-6 score, while
Carling Allaye-Chan and
Hana Gamracy finished at No. 3 doubles with a 2-6 result to clinch the point for Cal State Fullerton.

In singles competition, UC San Diego had mixed results, almost coming back to clinch the match. Allegre emerged victorious at No. 1 singles, posting a 7-6(8), 7-5 win. Lansky fought back from a set down to take No. 3 singles, finishing 1-6, 6-2, 6-1. Lian also secured a three-set win at No. 5 singles, with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 score.

Allaye-Chan battled neck and neck through three sets at No. 2 singles but fell 4-6, 6-4, 2-6. Gamracy's match at No. 4 singles ended 3-6, 4-6, and Visaya concluded her match at No. 6 singles with a 4-6, 4-6 loss.
