RENO, Nev. — UC San Diego track and field's final indoor meet of the year wrapped on Saturday at the Battle Born Classic. The Tritons won three events and set eight school records.

The two-day meet was hosted by Nevada at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Two of the team's event wins came in sprint races, and both were also school records.
Brycen Tablit won the 60m dash with a time of 6.62, with teammate
Anthony Flowers second by .04 seconds.
Brandon Orlow then won the 200m in 21.14.

The Tritons' third event win came in men's high jump, with
Miles Bennett the victor there. He cleared 2.05m on his first attempt to claim the title.

Four more school records were set in track events. The first came in the 60m hurdles on Friday when
Charis Wondercheck ran 8.75 in her first prelim race.
Lauren McBride then set the school record in the 60m dash later that day with a time of 7.63 in her semifinal race.

The other two track school records came on Saturday.
Jordyn Thomas set the mark in the 400m after finishing in 55.27. She was followed by
Jayla Addison in the 800m, who ran 2:16.27.

On the field side,
Feyi Olukanni and
Kenneth Tucker both improved on the school records that they set last week. Olukanni's best in the weight throw is now 15.99m, while Tucker's long jump mark came in at 7.35m.

TRITON TIDBITS
- UC San Diego won eight events in its three indoor meets this season.
- The Tritons had 22 scholar-athletes in action. This is the second year that UC San Diego has sponsored an indoor track and field program.
