HOUSTON – UC San Diego continued dominating in Thursday's competition, finishing on the podium six times across three events. The Tritons added three Big West Championships titles in the women's 500 Freestyle, men's 500 Freestyle, and women's 200 IM.
Eva Boehlke topped the women's 200 IM, earning herself an auto-bid to the DI NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in the event.

After two days of competition, UC San Diego women sit in fourth place with 207 points. University of Hawai'i currently tops the women's standing with 271 points. On the men's side UC San Diego finished in third earning 207 points. Grand Canyon University holds the men's first-place spot with 319 points going into day three of the championships.

In the 500 Freestyle junior
Asia Kozan finished on top setting a new Big West meet record and UC San Diego program record with a time of 4:45.65. Senior
Sophia Bell earned a third-place finish with a time of 4:49.30 in the event. Following them, the Triton men also captured first and third in the 500 Freestyle. Freshman
Landon Egeland had a first-place finish, setting another Big West meet record (4:20.98). Senior
Luigi Franco joined the podium with a 4:24.39 in third. In the 200 IM, setting a Big West meet record, junior Boehlke punched her ticket to the NCAA championships with her event win (1:57.43). Senior
Chloe Braun followed her in third with a time of 1:58.73.

UC San Diego will continue Best West competition tomorrow, Feb. 13 in Houston, Texas, preliminaries begin at 8 a.m. PST, 10 a.m. CT. Another round of championship finals will begin at 4 p.m. PST, 6 p.m. CT.
