TUCSON, Ariz. – UC San Diego began its annual opening weekend trip to the Grand Canyon State with a 7-0 loss to Arizona Friday afternoon at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Wildcats proved too strong in all three doubles matches before sweeping singles action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Arizona took the doubles point with a 6-2 victory on all three courts. With the Wildcats leading 1-0, the teams moved on to singles. The hosts won all six courts to complete the sweep. A bright spot for the Tritons came on court three, where UC San Diego grad student
Hana Gamracy took her first set, 6-4, over Danielle Tuhten. UA won the second set at third singles, 6-1. With the match already clinched, Gamracy and Tuhten played a super tiebreak in the third set, where Tuhten won, 10-7.
