ANTE BUZOV, MEN'S WATER POLO, SENIOR, UTILITY
Big man Ante Buzov put up some big scoring numbers over three games. In total, the six-foot-seven, 245-pound Croat racked up seven goals off 11 shots (.640 shooting percentage) while also drawing three exclusions to help the Tritons go 2-1. His best effort came against Concordia when he found the back of the net four times, which matched his career best single game total. He also had a drawn exclusion. In his second game of the same day, Buzov scored twice and added a pair of drawn exclusions vs. Chapman. Sunday against Stanford, the fourth-ranked team in the nation, Buzov scored once, logged a drawn exclusion, and grabbed three steals, one short of his career-best.

SYLVANA NORTHROP, WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY, REDSHIRT SENIOR
Sylvana Northrop was the Tritons' top finisher at the Texas A&M Invitational, finishing fourth after running the 5k in 17:08.4. Northrop led the Tritons to a third-place finish in a race that had 14 teams, including four Power Five programs.

NATALIE ABEL, WOMEN'S SOCCER, GRAD STUDENT, FORWARD
UC San Diego grad student Natalie Abel scored a pair of goals as the Tritons split two matches against Mountain West foes at altitude in Colorado. Abel opened the scoring for the Tritons with her strike in the 56th minute in a win at Colorado College Thursday. On Sunday at unbeaten Colorado State, Abel got UC San Diego on the board in the 17th minute, scoring directly off a corner kick. That Olimpico was her sixth goal as a Triton and eighth career goal overall.

BRENDON FEZZEY, MEN'S WATER POLO, SENIOR, UTILITY
Senior Brendon Fezzey led the #12/13 UC San Diego men's water polo team to a 2-0 record on the road this past week by totaling six points on five goals and an assist. He was efficient in the pool as well, netting the five scores on seven shots (.714). Against Clairemont-Mudd-Scripps, Fezzey registered his first hat trick of the season with three goals to go along with an assist and a steal. Later in the day, he added another two goals to his season total against Cal Lutheran. Fezzey has scored multiple goals in three of his last four outings.

EVAN WELLERSTEIN, MEN'S SOCCER, REDSHIRT JUNIOR, DEFENDER
Evan Wellerstein scored in the 73rd minute of Sunday's match to give the Tritons a 1-1 draw on the road at No. 17 Cal, marking the second time the program has gotten a result against a ranked opponent in the Division I era. Wellerstein also helped the Triton defense hold the nationally-ranked Golden Bears to just one goal.

MOLLY MCCLUSKEY, WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL, SOPHOMORE, OPPOSITE
Sophomore Molly McCluskey put together a standout performance in the opening weekend of the 2025 season. The Tritons' opposite set two program Division I single match records for hitting percentage (.682) and total points (33.0) and recorded a new career high with 29 kills to earn a spot on the UC San Diego Invitational All-Tournament Team. McCluskey recorded back-to-back double-doubles to start the year with 16 kills and 11 digs against EWU and 11 kills and 10 digs the following night versus New Mexico State. She notched 16 kills on 22 swings with just one error in the opening night victory over the Eagles. On Sunday, McCluskey recorded a new career high with 29 kills, adding two aces and four blocks for 33.0 total points. For the weekend, she averaged a staggering 5.82 points, 5.09 kills and 2.64 digs in three matches.

AVA TIBOR, WOMEN'S SOCCER, REDSHIRT FRESHMAN, FORWARD
UC San Diego freshman Ava Tibor scored two more goals, one coming on a penalty kick, as the Tritons downed UNLV, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon. Tibor's brace is already her second of the young season in just three matches played. Her four goals scored is twice as many as anyone else in The Big West, and the reigning Big West Freshman of the Week is also tops in the conference with eight points.

NOLAN PREMACK, MEN'S SOCCER, GRADUATE STUDENT, GOALKEEPER
Triton goalkeeper Nolan Premack made a combined nine saves across two matches with Furman and No. 15 Duke this week. In the match with Duke, Premack stopped a penalty kick in the 50th minute to keep the Tritons in the match, which they ultimately lost 1-0. The penalty was the seventh faced by Triton goalkeepers and the second to be saved since the team's first Division I season in 2021.
