LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego baseball had a trio of scholar-athletes recognized on Summer League All-Star Teams around the country.
J.C. Allen earned a spot in the West Coast League All-Star game on July 16, while
Steele Murdock and
Anthony Potestio represented the Tritons in the Cape Cod League All-Star game on July 19.

Allen is competing this summer for theÂ
Victoria HarbourCats, splitting time between first and third base. After joining the team on June 21, Allen is hitting .323 in 17 games with five home runs, 17 RBI, 11 walks and three doubles.

Murdock has impressed for the Orleans Firebirds this summer and was recently highlighted inÂ
D1 Baseball's feature on the prestigious Cape Code League. Murdock holds a 1.46 ERA in 11 appearances, collecting 19 strikeouts in 12.1 innings of work. He currently leads the team with five saves as the Firebirds' closer.

Potestio joined Murdock on theÂ
Orleans Firebirds this summer and currently has a .286 batting average in 18 games with six doubles, 15 walks, eight RBI and four stolen bases as the Firebirds' leadoff man.
