LA JOLLA, Calif. — The 32nd Triton Invitational wrapped on Saturday, with UC San Diego track and field enjoying several stand-out performances on its home track.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sylvana Northrop beat her own school record in the 5,000m by 10 seconds, finishing with a time of 16:24.50 to win the event on Friday night. She then completed the double on Saturday, winning the 1,500m after running 4:25.69.

Anthony Flowers was also a part of two event wins. He ran 20.88 in the 200m to break his own school record and won the 4x100 relay alongside
Brycen Tablit,
Kian Maher and
Brandon Orlow.

The women's 4x100 team also had a strong showing, beating their own second-best mark in program history.
Kate O'Malley,
Idara Ibekwe,
Leila Kepler and
Lauren McBride combined to run 45.89.

The other event win for the Tritons came in the men's 10,000m.
Jordan Haney and
Miles Takiguchi went 1-2 in the event, with Haney's 30:42.94 good for the fifth-fastest time in school history.

Shot put was a strong event for UC San Diego on Saturday.
Feyi Olukanni (15.30m) and
Cesar Salazar (17.85m) both set new personal records and finished with the second-best marks in school history.
Zach Lewis (17.53m) also had a personal record and is now third-best in school history.

The jumps squad performed strong as well.
Tamara Aimufia went 6.14m in the long jump to move up to second-best all-time at UC San Diego.
Jaden Rucker landed the sixth-best mark for the Tritons with a 14.92m in the triple jump.

Allyson Abandonato continued the distance squad's success at the meet with a 2:09.90 in the 800m. That time is the second-fastest in school history.

SENIOR NIGHT
The Tritons honored nine seniors at the conclusion of the event.

The Tritons will compete in the Mt. Sac Relays April 17-19.
