Tritons Third, Dougherty Eighth After Two Rounds in Washington

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Following Monday's cold, rainy, and windy two rounds at the Redhawk Invitational UC San Diego is third and Kyle Dougherty is eighth as the final round is set for Tuesday morning.

Seattle U is hosting the 18-team, 100-player tournament at Chambers Bay on Puget Sound in Washington.

It is the fifth-consecutive season the Tritons have traveled to the event.

UC San Diego is 12-over par as a team, trailing leaders St. Thomas and Utah Tech by just three strokes. The Tritons are tied for third place along with George Mason, Idaho, and Oregon State.

Dougherty shot three-over in the opening round and three-under in the second to finish even. He shot up 29 spots in the standings after his second round.

George Mason's Vaughn McMeans is atop the leader board at three-under. Matt Armstrong of St. Thomas and Hartej Grewal from UC Riverside are tied for second at two-under.
