IRVINE, Calif. – A balanced attack by the 13th-ranked UC San Diego men's volleyball team helped it defeat Concordia in straight sets on the road Saturday night.
Scores at CU Arena went 25-22, 25-21, and 25-16 in favor of the Tritons.
With the win, the Tritons improved to 10-4 on the season. The Golden Eagles dropped to 4-10.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
For the ninth time this season, UC San Diego hit over .300, coming in at .368 with 35 kills and 10 errors in 68 attack attempts.
Six Tritons accounted for the team's kill total. Opposite
Anthony Cherfan had a match-high nine while outsides
Sebastian Lara and
Josh Schellinger each had eight. Middle
Nick Rigo totaled four and setter
Bryce Dvorak and
Peter Selcho had three apiece.
Lara hit .533 with eight kills and zero errors in 15 swings. Cherfan came in at .500 with one error in 16 attacks.
Dvorak rang up 31 assists while pacing the offense. He also led all players with six digs.Â
The Tritons were solid from the service line, putting down eight aces to one for CUI. Schellinger had five of the eight, a new career high.

The Golden Eagles hit .225 (30-14-71). Justin Dowdle and Christian Galoppo led the team with eight kills apiece.
