SANTA CLARA, Calif. - UC San Diego softball (2-6) had an eventful day at the Silicon Valley Classic on Saturday in Santa Clara, Calif., splitting their games. They first secured a victory against Colorado State (4-5), winning 5-2, before falling to Santa Clara (6-3) with a final score of 11-3.

In the opening game against Colorado State,
Chloe Lesko led the Tritons with two hits and two RBI, also executing a sacrifice hit. Her defensive contributions at first base included four putouts and one assist.
Morgan Eng was another standout, contributing two hits, one run scored, and a stolen base from the leadoff position. On the mound,
India Caldwell pitched five innings across three appearances, allowing one earned run and striking out three batters, with a total of five hits and five walks over 102 pitches.
Callie Christian maintained a clean sheet in her single inning of work, facing three batters without allowing a hit. This victory improved the Tritons' overall record to two wins and five losses.

However, the second game against Santa Clara proved more challenging for UC San Diego.
Morgan Eng continued her strong performance with two hits and one RBI, while
Haley Garcia made an impact with two doubles and a run scored.
Alexa DeMarse also drove in a run with her sole hit of the game.
Chloe Lesko contributed with a stolen base and a walk. On the pitching side,
Claire Adams faced challenges, allowing five earned runs in three innings but managed to induce seven flyouts. This loss dropped the Tritons' overall record to two wins and six losses.
