LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego men's volleyball program has added Noah Cotterman to its staff as an assistant coach. The announcement was made Tuesday by head coach
Brad Rostratter.
Cotterman brings experience from the collegiate, high school, and club levels to La Jolla.
"I'm excited to join the UC San Diego men's volleyball program, said Cotterman. "The team has shown consistent growth and success over the last several years and I am really looking forward to contributing to that. I want to thank coach Rostratter for this amazing opportunity and can't wait to compete in the spring!"
"Noah is an addition to our staff that will continue to push us forward in all aspects of our program," said Rostratter. His history within the NAIA means he can adapt along with the program to make change, push growth, and be able to take it all in stride. The success he has had is a reflection of his ability to lead, train, and invest in the athletes he is around and I'm excited to see his investment in our scholar-athletes continue to enhance the experience of being apart of our volleyball program."
Most recently, Cotterman was the head coach of the men's volleyball program at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. In 2025, The Vikings won the Heart of America Conference championship, the first in the team's history, and went on to become an NAIA Men's Volleyball national semifinalist. The team also captured two CalPac Athletic Conference regular season titles. Individually, Benedictine had a three-time conference Player of the Year to go along with 10 All-America selections and 14 all-conference picks.
While at Benedictine, Cotterman concurrently served as the head coach of Boy's Volleyball at Higley High School in Gilbert, Ariz. The Knights qualified for the 5A State Playoffs all three years that Cotterman was at the helm.
At the club level, Cotterman coached with Aspire in Tempe, Ariz. As head coach of Aspire 18 Thor, the team produced multiple podium finishes at national tournaments.
