LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego's Asia Kozan and Luigi Franco swept the Big West Swimming Athletes of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Â

At the Tritons' most recent meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 against Simon Fraser and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Junior Asia Kozan posted three first-place finishes, one being the 400 Freestyle Relay. Kozan had a 50.20 split, and her team finished with a 3.23.70. In the tri-meet she outpaced her competitors in both the 200 IM (1:59.79) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:53.54), aiding the UC San Diego win. Â

Senior Luigi Franco took on Simon Fraser and CMS strongly on Saturday, Oct. 21 and posted two top five finishes. The backstroke and freestyler had an individual first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:39.31), closely followed by two Triton teammates. Franco also posted the fastest time in the 500 yard freestyle with a 4:31.29 at the home meet.Â

The Triton women will host conference foe UC Davis on Friday, Nov. 7th. The meet will take place at Canyonview Aquatic Center and is set to begin at 12 p.m.Â
