Tritons Jump up Leaderboard 10 Spots into a Tie for Seventh

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. - UC San Diego men's golf shot eight-under par in Sunday's second round of the Falcon Invitational and rocketed up 10 spots on the leader board into a tie for seventh.

In addition, Triton Akira Isayama is tied for third in the separate individual tournament.

Air Force is hosting the three-day, 22-team, 110-player tournament at Eisenhower Golf Club.

The team competition is being played on the Blue Course and the individual tourney is on the Silver Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons finished 17-over par in Saturday's first round and were in 17th place coming into Sunday.

Colorado State remains in first place at nine-under par. San Jose State (-7) is a close second while Utah State (-1) is third. Those are the only three teams in the field under par.

Kyle Dougherty is still the Triton leader, tied for sixth place at two-under par. He shot even Saturday and was tied for 10th at the conclusion of the first round.

Justin Gill, who was tied for 63rd before teeing off today, shot five-under to blast into a tie for 15th.

Davis McDowell shot a two-under 70 Sunday to move from 87th into 46th.

The leader is Matthew Wilkinson of Colorado State at nine-under, four strokes better than his nearest competitor.

Isayama shot 70 (-2) today to go along with Saturday's 69 (-3) in the individual tournament. He is tied for third with San Jose State's Alaric Mercie. There are 50 golfers in the individual field.

The leader of the indy tournament is Colorado State's Roy Williamson at nine-under.

• Eisenhower's Blue Course is 7,541 yards long while the Silver Course plays 6,510.

The third and final round is slated for a 6:30 a.m. Pacific start on Monday. There is no live coverage for the tournament.
