Day One in Colorado: Tritons 17th, Dougherty 16th

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. - Following Saturday's first round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, UC San Diego men's golf is 17th and Kyle Dougherty is in 10th place.

In addition, Akira Isayama is tied for third in the separate individual tournament.

Air Force is hosting the three-day, 22-team, 110-player tournament at Eisenhower Golf Club.

The team competition is being played on the Blue Course and the individual tourney is on the Silver Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons finished 17-over par in round one.

Colorado State is in first place at two-under par, four strokes in front of second-place Utah State. San Jose State sits in third at three-over.

Dougherty shot an even 72 today and is tied with seven other players for the 10th position.

The individual leader is Matthew Wilkinson of Colorado State. The Ram is seven-under, four strokes better than his nearest competitor.

Isayama fired a three-under 69 in the individual tournament. He is tied for third with San Jose State's Alaric Mercie. There are 50 golfers in the individual field.
