LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego men's soccer heads to the East Coast for a two-game slate as they face Howard University on Saturday, Sep. 20 followed by a Tuesday, Sep. 24 match vs. Navy.

Howard enters the Saturday matchup 0-4. After being on the road to open the season, the match vs. the Tritons will be their season home opener. The Bison have scored 6 goals so far this season and three of their four games have been lost by a one-goal margin. Bryson Baker leads the team with a goal and two assists.

The Midshipmen are currently 1-4-2 and will compete on the road at Lafayette on Saturday before meeting UC San Diego. Navy has scored six goals over eight games with Wyatt Stevens leading the way with three goals. The Tuesday matchup will be the Midshipmen's final non-conference match.

Kai Oppenheim now leads the team with two goals and two assists. The freshman Triton scored a brace against the Falcons for his first collegiate goal and the game winner. Against San Jose State, redshirt sophomore

About UC San Diego Athletics
After two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program began a new era in 2020 as a member of The Big West in NCAA Division I.
