LA JOLLA, Calif. — Nine UC San Diego women's tennis scholar-athletes have been named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes for excelling in the classroom. The organization announced its 2023-24 honorees Monday morning. Cincy Chen, Grace Gamal, Kelly Leung, Naomi Nguyen, Ella Pachl, Sophie Pearson, Ania Snissarenko, Monica Stratakos, and Katelyn Vu represent the Tritons – whose nine honorees matched CSUN for the most scholar-athletes recognized of any Big West institution. UC San Diego is also a recipient of the 2023-24 ITA All-Academic Team award.

The ITA All-Academic Team award recognizes programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, nominees must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the current academic year.
 
The ITA's academic awards include honorees from all levels of college men's and women's tennis.
  
1,573 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 255 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
