AZUSA, Calif. – UC San Diego track and field wrapped the 2024 season at the APU Last Chance meet on Friday and Saturday on the Azusa campus. The two squads posted 28 top 10 finishes with three school records falling over the weekend.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
Leading the women's side,
Amari Jenkins posted two top finishes in the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. In the 100m hurdles prelim, Jenkins finished eighth to make it to the finals and improved her time to finish third overall with a time of 14.04. In the 400m hurdles, the senior took first with a time of 1:00.02 and was joined by teammate
Gloria Kalt in tenth with a time of 1:04.32.

On the distance side,
Sylvana Northrop broke her own record in the 5000m for the second time this season and the third time the junior has broken it overall this season. Running a time of 16:48.38 for the new program record, Northrop finished third overall.
Norah Dulaney had a good showing in the 3000m Steeplechase, running a time of 10:43.89 for the sixth-place finish.

In the field, the Triton women had six top 10 finishes with three third place finishes.
Kate MacNaughton finished third in high jump with a mark of 1.71m (5' 7.25") on two attempts. The senior was joined by
Lauren Pritchard who finished tenth. In pole vault,
Sky Kezmoh took third for the gold and blue with a mark of 3.73m (12' 2.75") on one attempt.
Julia Di Silvestri joined her teammate with the same mark on three attempts for fifth.
Tamara Aimufia and
Tia Stapleton led the way in long jump and triple jump. Placing eighth in long jump, Aimufia posted a mark of 5.97m (19' 7") and Stapleton took ninth with a distance of 5.84m (19' 2"). In the triple jump, Aimufia took third with a mark of 12.36m (40' 6.75"). Stapleton finished fifth with a distance of 11.86m (38' 11").

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Anthony Flowers led the Triton men with two top 3 finishes. In the 100m dash prelims, the freshman snapped the two-year-old program record with a time of 10.34 to finish third. He went on to take second in the finals.
Nolan Crespo joined the freshman and finished 1oth with a time of 10.66. In the 200m dash, Flowers ran a time of 21.21 to take fifth overall.

On the distance side,
Zeno Castiglioni finished eighth overall with a time of 3:50.00. In the field,
Kyle Gibbs won the event with a mark of 5.29m (17' 4.25") to break the school record for the third time this season.
Nathan Yoder took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.52m (50' 11").

On the throwing field,
Nathan Tripp led in the shot put with a mark of 16.29m (53' 5.5") to take sixth overall.
Matthew Amankonah took seventh in the same event with a distance of 16.28m (53' 5"). Amankonah led in discus with a mark of 47.99m (157' 5") to take fourth.
Ian Gammal finished tenth with a 38.17m (125' 3") mark.
QUOTABLE
Head coach Kimberly Graham-Miller commented, "I am so proud of how we performed this season and how we progressed throughout the year." With three more program records falling, she added, "As we move forward as a program it's amazing to see so many athletes running personal bests and breaking school record in their events even in the final meet."
