ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Twelve UC San Diego track and field scholar-athletes competed on day one of the Don Kirby Invitational.
Jake Heinlein posted a personal record in the 400 meter while
Tamara Aimufia moved onto the program top 10 all-time list in the long jump.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
In the 200m,
Maxine Schultz led the way with a PR at 24.59 to finish 23rd.
Lauren Schiele,
Idara Ibekwe, and
Kate O'Malley followed the Triton leader in 50th, 67th, and 74th out 105 runners.

Kate MacNaughton and
Tia Stapleton represented in the high jump. MacNaughton finished in 16th with a height of 5'5 and
Tia Stapleton jumped 5'1 for 37th.

Tamara Aimufia earned a spot on the program top 10 all-time list with her long jump at 19'7. The jump earned her the no. 3 spot in the UC San Diego history books and 18th at the Invite.

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Leading both sides with the top finish of the day,
Jake Heinlein finished ninth with a PR in the 400m at 49.16.

Anthony Flowers ran a time of 21.83 to finish 16th in the 200m. Improving on his time in the 200m from just a week ago,
Nolan Crespo posted a time of 21.99 for 26th place.

Continuing to be the lone Triton in the weighted throw,
Matthew Amankonah finished 23rd with a throw of 16'46.

QUOTABLE
Commenting on the difficulty of their schedule, head coach Kimberly Graham-Miller said, "it's tough to go back-to-back weekends, but we are really learning how to compete, recover and get back at it."

This is the final indoor meet for the Tritons and Graham-Miller added, "consistency is the theme of these meets and our marks continue to be very consistent. This indoor season has been very beneficial and I am looking forward to outdoors."
