KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – UC San Diego sent nine representatives to the TYR Pro Swim Series from Jan. 10-13 in pursuit of Olympic qualifying times. Eight scholar-athletes and one alum represented the gold and blue over 24 events and returned to the finals 15 times over three days of competition.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
Leading the women's side,
Miranda Renner set two team records in the 100 meter fly and 50 meter free. The fifth-year senior swam a 1:01.41 in the 100 fly and a 26.33 in the 50 free.

Juli Arzave made it to the finals twice over the three days in the 1500 free and 800 free.
Asia Kozan did the same in the 200 IM and 200 free.
Eva Boehlke joined Kozan in the finals of the 200 IM as well. Â

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Andrija Petkovic set the tone for the men with two team records and two finals appearances. His team records were set in the 100 meter free at 49.88 and in the 50 meter back he swam a time of 25.66. He went back for the finals in the 100 free and the 200 free.

Posting the most finals swims,
Luigi Franco swam the 400 free, 200 back, and 100 back for the gold and blue.
Colton Milne represented in the 100 breast and 200 breast finals with
Ivan Kurakin (assistant coach and '23) swimming the 400 and 200 free finals.
Robby Griswold swam the 200 back final.

UP NEXT
The two UC San Diego squads will head to Riverside to compete in a double dual meet vs. California Baptist and Grand Canyon University on Saturday, Jan. 20. The meet is set to start at 11 a.m. on the Cal Baptist campus.
