Tritons on the Road in the Rockies

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Headed to the Rocky Mountains, UC San Diego men's soccer will face No. 17 University of Denver on Friday night before heading south to Colorado Springs to take on Air Force Academy on Sunday for an afternoon matchup.

No. 17 DU is coming of a 2-2 draw with Creighton University as the Pioneers have opened the 2023 season with six-game homestand which includes the Friday night match with the Tritons. Notably the Pios defeated then No. 11 SMU in a 3-1 result to start September. DU has netted eight goals so far this season while only allowing three. This will be the Tritons second meeting with Denver after falling to them in a 2-0 result in the 2022 season.

The Falcons are currently on a four-game losing streak and will face Central Arkansas before hosting the Tritons. To open the season, AFA fell by one in a nail biter on the road at Army in a 3-2 result. Big West foe, Sacramento State took down the Falcons in a 3-1 result this past Sunday. This is the first time UC San Diego and Air Force will meet on the pitch.
