Castiglioni and Yamano Set UC San Diego All-Time Records at Bryan Clay

Zeno Castiglioni and Kelsie Yamano land on the UC San Diego all-time record list for the Steeplechase in day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. — The UC San Diego track and field team participated in the men's and women's 3000-meter Steeplechase this evening during day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific.
 
Both Kelsie Yamano and Zeno Castiglioni set new personal bests, putting them on UC San Diego's all-time record list at fourth and seventh, respectively.

  • Zeno Castiglioni – 3000-meter Steeplechase (9:14.36/88th overall/seventh all-time)

WOMEN:

  • Kelsie Yamano – 3000-meter Steeplechase (11:09.23/107th overall/fourth all-time)
 
TRITON TIDBITS
  • Kelsie Yamano ran a personal best in the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a tie of 11:09.23, leaving her at the No. 4 spot on UC San Diego's all-time record list.
  • Zeno Castiglioni also beat his previous personal record in the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 9:14.36, putting him at the No. 7 spot on UC San Diego's all-time list.

The UC San Diego Track and Field team will return tomorrow for day two of the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. The event will continue o take place at Cougar Athletics Stadium up until Saturday, Apr. 15.
