LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego's
Caroline Christl was named the Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week Wednesday.
A sophomore attacker, Christl scored five goals to lead 18th-ranked UC San Diego past No. 10 UC Davis, 10-9, in a conference road game this past Friday. Her goal at 1:17 of the third quarter put the Tritons ahead, 7-6, and they stayed in front the rest of the way.
Christl is riding a 12-game scoring streak with multiple goals in eight of those. For the season, she has found the net at least once in 21Â of 26 games played and has totaled 52 points on 46 goals and six assists.
A native of San Clemente, Calif., Christl is a international business major out of UC San Diego's Marshall College.

UC San Diego plays at Big West opponent CSUN on Saturday, April 15 at noon. The Tritons close out their regular season the following weekend at home by hosting UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, April 22 and San Diego State on Sunday, April 23. Both contests are scheduled for noon starts at Canyonview Aquatic Center. Prior to the start of Sunday's contest, the Triton seniors will be celebrated.
