ELKHART, Ind. – UC San Diego continued competition at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships on Friday, March 10. On day two of the national meet, the Tritons sent 20 Tritons to the finals with the women's 200 medley relay taking first place.

After day one, the Triton women reside in sixth place with 273.5 points just behind Ohio State University – Bloomington and University of Tennessee. The Triton men reside in ninth place with 202.5 points behind IUB by 31.5 points.

During the prelims on Friday morning, five Tritons swam personal best times. 20 Tritons went onto the finals on Friday night. To move on to finals, swimmers must make one of the top 20 times for the B and A final in the evenings. Only relays will score points at the NIC.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
In prelims,
Valerie Yue swam a personal best in the 100 yard butterfly. The senior posted a 54.71 time.
Aneta Wyzga also posted a personal best in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.27.

In the finals, the 200 medley relay team made up of
Jordan Phillips,
Chloe Braun,
Miranda Renner, and
Tina Reuter. The relay team took first over Tennessee, Akron, GCU, TCU, and Nebraska with a time of 1:38.63.

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
The Triton men had three personal bests and a season best happen in prelims.
Nathan Lee snagged a personal best in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 49.04.
Ryan Kirton seam a season best swim in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.41. In the same event,
Andrija Petkovic swam a personal best posting a time of 1:35.58.
Justin Morsch swam a time trial in 50 yard freestyle and swam a personal best with a time of 20.68.

In the 200 freestyle finals, Petkovic swam another personal best with a time of 1:35.49.

The UC San Diego swim teams continues competing at the CSCAA NIC through Sunday. Prelims begin at 9:30 am ET with finals taking place each night at 6 pm ET.
