ST. GEORGE, Utah – On day two of the Trailblazer Invite, the UC San Diego swim teams won four events with three individual wins and one relay win.
The Tritons remain on top after night two, the Triton men currently hold 675 points while the Triton women end the day with 597.5 points.
ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
In prelims,
Chloe Braun earned an NCAA B-Cut in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.32. This is the sophomore's second postseason qualifying swim of the invite.
Freshmen
Asia Kozan and
Eva Boehlke led the women in the finals with the only two first place finishes in the finals. Taking the 200 free, Kozan swam a 1:48.67 to finish first and earn 20 points for the gold and blue.
Audrey Moore,
Juli Arzave, and
Sophie Francis added their support with 33 points of their own. In the 400 IM, Boehlke swam a time of 4:20.20 to take first by a full three seconds.
Sabrina Bennani added her support with 11 points in the same event.
Franics, Arzave, Moore, and Kozan earned a team first-place finish in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:22.98. The squad swam an almost identical finals swim as their prelim swim and earned 40 points for the relay win.
After day one, the Triton women are 77 points ahead their pool of competition.
ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Luke Pusateri led the men's side with the only individual first-place finish. Swimming the 100 breast, Pusateri won the event with a time of 54.76. He shaved off 0.25 seconds from his prelim swim earlier in the day.
In the 800 free relay,
Aidan Rikic,
Ryan Kirton,
Andrija Petkovic, and
Luigi Franco were able to snag second with a time of 6:38.78. The second-place finish earned the Tritons 34 points plus the other relay team earning 30 points.
After day one, the Triton men are 102 points ahead their pool of competition.
