TEMPE, Ariz. – The UC San Diego women's tennis team earned the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award, while seven Tritons earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades. The ITA announced the honors on Monday morning.

In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the 2021-22 academic year. Additionally, in order for a team to garner ITA All-Academic Team honors, a program must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above for 2021-22.

UC San Diego was one of 250 Division I women's tennis teams to receive All-Academic Team distinction, while the seven individual Tritons were among the 1,517Â student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements.Â

As a team, UC San Diego doubled its win total from 2021 both overall and in Big West play in the second year of its transition to NCAA Division I. The Tritons graduated three from this year's roster while returning 12 scholar-athletes for the 2022-23 season.
