LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego men's golf team wraps up its 2021-22 season this week at the El Macero Classic, hosted by UC Davis April 20-22Â at El Macero Country Club.Â
Six Big West Conference schools are among the 14 teams competing at El Macero including Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara.
Five teams are ranked in the national top-100 including UC Davis (60), Loyola Marymount (74), Long Beach State (76), UCLA (82), and Fresno State (92).
The Tritons are coming off an eighth-place finish at last week's 14-team UC Santa Barbara Collegiate Classic at Sandpiper Golf Club. Senior
Ryan Vaughan tied for ninth in the 84-player field.
Cal Poly, Grand Canyon, and Sacramento State, all in the El Macero field, also played at UCSB's tournament last week.
