LA JOLLA, Calif. - Former UC San Diego golfer
Nathan Tseng has qualified to play in this week's PGA Tour
World Wide Technology Championship in Los Cabos, Mexico.
The event runs November 5-8 at
El Cardonal at Diamante with 120 players in the field.
"I'm super excited to make my PGA Tour debut in Cabo," said Tseng. "I'm really looking forward to playing my game and focusing on what I can control. It's going to be a very fun week!"
Tseng tees off Thursday at 11:44 a.m. Pacific Time. He is paired with Chandler Blanchet (Gainesville, Fla./West Florida), Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt), and a fourth player yet to be named.
The tournament can be followed live on
Golf Channel.
Tseng was one of just four non-exempt players to earn a spot in the PGA Tour event by competing in the World Wide Technology Championship Qualifier at Oleada Golf Links in Cabo San Lucas on November 2. He placed second in the 50-plus competitor field, finishing 3-under par.
Tseng graduated from UC San Diego in 2026 following a stellar career as a Triton. A native of Fullerton, Calif., the two-time All-Big West selection won his first collegiate tournament as a senior, topping the field at the
Pearl at Kalauo in Hawai'i (which UC San Diego happens to be playing in this week). He also placed fifth in the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course last season.
For his career, Tseng carried a 72.4 stroke average over 35 events and 104 rounds. He logged four top-five finishes and 11 top-20 finishes while racking up 50 rounds of par or better.
"We are so proud of Nathan for getting through a very difficult qualifier and now he has the opportunity to play in a PGA Tour event," said UC San Diego head golf coach
Fred Hanover.
In 2025, world No. 9 Ben Griffin won the World Wide Technology Championship. This year's event celebrates its 20th anniversary. Fred Funk won the inaugural tournament in 2007.
