QUOTABLE
"It's been quite a week," Co-Head Coach
Darcy Ahner said. "We had solid performances at Long Beach and breakthrough performances from the distance squad at APU. Both meets were huge, with thousands of athletes each. It was great to be back at big meets after two years of COVID-restricted competitions."
TRITON TIDBITS
- Kalobe Jimenez is the third Triton to set multiple top-ten all-time marks at the same event this season, joining Matthew Amankonah and Idara Ibekwe. Ibekwe is the only one to accomplish the feat twice, doing so at back-to-back meets in March
- So close yet so far, again: Megan Mattson was 0.01 seconds shy of making the Tritons' top-ten list in the 100-meter Hurdles on Saturday, the second time in as many weekends she's come that close
UP NEXT
With their first split-squad weekend behind them, the Tritons' whole squad will head to UC Riverside together for the Chris Rinne Invitational on Friday. UC San Diego is set to split up the squad again April 29-30, sending a select few athletes to Iowa for the Drake Relays while most of the team competes at the Steve Scott Invitationals in Irvine.
