WHAT'S AT STAKE
UC San Diego comes into the match against Long Beach State having won four consecutive matches, including last week's 11-5 win over No. 25 CSUN in its Big West Conference opener. Over those four matches, the Tritons outscored opponents 46-26. UC San Diego is 1-0 against Long Beach State this season, defeating them 12-8 as part of the Triton Invitational back on Feb. 13.
Ciara Franke brings a 15-game goal streak into this match against Long Beach State, totaling 39 goals on the year. Franke recorded one goal in her last match against CSUN.
RECORD WATCH
Bennett Bugelli recorded seven more saves against CSUN, bringing her career total up to 736 career saves. In the win over UCSB at the Kalbus Invitational, Bugelli moved up to third all-time, passing Maryam Hadiashar, 697 saves, and Leona Mason, 701 saves. This season, she has already leapt up from ninth place after making 25 saves at the UCSB Winter Invite. Next on the list is Jefi Paulsen with 852 saves.
