CLAREMONT, Calif. – UC San Diego's track and field team opened the 2022 season, taking on a wide variety of competition at the 25
th Annual Rossi Relays on Saturday. The Tritons finished first overall in six events and recorded seven new entries on all-time program top-ten lists.
Nolan Crespo's 100 meter dash, just 0.15 seconds shy of the UC San Diego record, highlighted the weekend.

TRITON TIDBITS
- While it is not an official NCAA event, the Men's 3200 Relay team of Jake Selstad, Andrew Thomas, Jake Heinlein, Charlie Frank, and Trevor Paulbitski set a UC San Diego record time of 7:45.83, good for second place overall in the event.
- The 3000-meter run is another non-NCAA event, which the Tritons run quite often. Jonathan Rodriguez posted UC San Diego's fastest time on the men's side (8:26.71/tenth overall), with Caitlin Billman the top Triton finisher on the women's side (10:21.98/fifth overall).

UP NEXT
The Tritons hit the road again next weekend, traveling to Long Beach for the Beach Opener, March 4-5. UC San Diego will host its first of two home meets, the San Diego Collegiate Challenge, on March 11 at Triton Track & Field Stadium.
