LOS ANGELES – The Tritons wrapped up the third day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference championships with four first-place finishes and an additional seven top-three finishes. The women's team extended their lead in first place to 23 points with Friday's results. The men's side remains in fourth.

Competing in Division II at the time, the Tritons finished fourth on the men's side and fifth on the women's side at the 2019-20 conference championships, their most recent appearance at the competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Triton women picked up where they left off on Thursday, following up their strong performance by claiming three more first place finishes. The 400 yard medley relay team won their race, finishing in 3:38.04.
Tina Reuter took first in the 400 yard IM race, as did
Ciara Franke in the 200 yard freestyle.
Gabi Icheva and
Sophie Francis were not far behind their teammates in those races, picking up third place finishes in the 400 yard IM and 200 yard freestyle, respectively.

Jordan Phillips and
Katja Pavicevic both took second place finishes, with Phillips swimming the 100 yard butterfly in 54.18 and Pavicevic posting a 1:01.83 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Miranda Renner finished just behind Phillips, coming in third in the 100 yard butterfly.
Teagan Monroe took third in the 100 yard backstroke race.Â

On the men's side,
Ivan Kurakin took first in the 200 yard freestyle race, swimming a 1:35.46.
Spencer Daily claimed second place in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 47.13.
UP NEXT
The Tritons will compete in the final day of the MPSF conference tomorrow. Preliminaries will begin at 10 am and finals will start at 6 pm.
