LOS ANGELES – On the second day of the USC Invitational, the Tritons topped Hawai'i on both sides. The Triton women finished ahead of the Rainbow Wahine by 18 points with a total of 102 points for the second day. The Triton men finished at 107 over Hawai'i, who finished at 79.
UC San Diego finished the invite with a total of 335 team points. Hawai'i finished with a total of 293 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Starting the day,
Miranda Renner,
Josette Odgers,
Mackenzie Lee, and
Jordan Phillips took sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay, posting a 1:32.51 time.
Tina Reuter took seventh in the 400-yard IM after posting a 4:23.04 time. She finished over an Auburn, USC, and Hawai'i swimmer. Renner finished the 100-yard butterfly in eighth with a 55.11 time.
Sanne Dequine finished behind her in ninth by 0.17 seconds. Finishing in the fourth,
Katja Pavicevic posted a 1:01.74 time to take the highest finish of the day for the Tritons.
On the men's side,
Andrija Petkovic,
Justin Morsch,
Aidan Rikic, and
Andrew Bowman took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Nathan Lee posted a 3:54.44 time in the 400-yard IM to take fifth over an Auburn swimmer and multiple USC swimmers. Finishing in eighth,
Chad Morrison posted a 49.94 time in the 100-yard butterfly. With a 1:37.09 time,
Ivan Kurakin, took sixth in the 200-yard freestyle, outpacing several Auburn and USC swimmers. Wrapping up the day,
Luke Pusateri finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.05.
