LA JOLLA, Calif. – Due to COVID testing protocol concerns, Friday's exhibition women's soccer match between UC San Diego and San Diego has been canceled. The Tritons will open their first Division I season on Thursday, August 19, when UC San Diego welcomes Cal to Triton Soccer Stadium. Action is set to get underway at 1 p.m., and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

After two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program began a new era in 2020 as a member of the Big West Conference in NCAA Division I.
