LAST TIME VS. CAL STATE FULLERTON (10/24/26) | Stats
The Tritons last faced Cal State Fullerton on the road in October 2026, earning a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory at Titan Stadium. After a scoreless first half, the Titans took the lead in the 85th minute, but UC San Diego responded quickly as Natalie Oca equalized just 25 seconds later. Leilah Raad then scored the game-winner in the 89th minute off an assist from Cadee Borg to secure the victory. The Tritons outshot the Titans 22-8 and held an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal, while Charlotte Wilfert recorded one save. The win marked UC San Diego's first comeback victory over Cal State Fullerton in Big West play.

JONES NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR
Kristin Jones '04 was named Big West Coach of the Year after guiding UC San Diego to its most successful season of the Division I era. In her eighth season, Jones led the Tritons to an 11-3-5 overall record, a 7-1-3 mark in Big West play, and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Under her leadership, UC San Diego set Division I program records for wins and goals while earning its first Division I postseason berth and hosting a postseason match for the first time.

NINE TRITONS EARN ALL-BIG WEST HONORS
Nine Tritons received All-Big West recognition, highlighted by three Second Team selections: senior midfielder Alexis Nguyen, junior defender Leilah Raad, and redshirt freshman midfielder Olivia Shih. Six additional Tritons earned honorable mention recognition: Natalie Oca, Ava Tibor, Cadee Borg, Jenna Grider, Kat Harris, and Charlotte Wilfert. Shih was also named to the Big West All-Rookie Team after recording five goals and four assists in her debut collegiate season.

CHASING THE RECORD BOOKS
Ava Tibor enters the match with 10 career goals, just one shy of tying the UC San Diego Division I program record of 11. The sophomore forward continues to climb the record book as she looks to make history for the Tritons. Meanwhile, Olivia Shih currently has 14 points on the season, just one point shy of tying the Division I single-season program record of 15.

WILFERT PUTS UP A WALL
Charlotte Wilfert was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week and UCU Athlete of the Week on September 28th after delivering a record-setting performance in UC San Diego's first two Big West matches of the season. Against Utah Valley, Wilfert recorded 15 saves, breaking a 35-year-old UC San Diego school record for most saves in a single match. Her 15 saves are also the most by any Big West goalkeeper in a single match since 2024. Wilfert played all 90 minutes in both contests, recording a shutout victory over CSUN before making 15 saves to preserve a 2-2 draw against Utah Valley. She finished the week with a .895 save percentage.

Wilfert earned her second Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor on Nov. 2 after helping the Tritons secure a pair of conference victories to close out the regular season. She played all 180 minutes across wins over CSU Bakersfield and UC Irvine, recording three saves while anchoring a defense that allowed just one goal. Wilfert helped UC San Diego earn a 3-1 road victory over the Roadrunners before recording her eighth shutout of the season in a 2-0 Senior Day win over the Anteaters. The recognition marked her second Defensive Player of the Week award of the 2026 season as she helped the Tritons secure the No. 2 seed in the Big West Championship.

OCA COMES UP CLUTCH
Junior forward Natalie Oca was named UCU Athlete of the Week on Nov. 2 after delivering a standout performance in UC San Diego's final two regular-season victories. Oca scored the game-winning goal in both Big West wins, totaling two goals and one assist across the two matches. She found the back of the net in the Tritons' 3-1 victory over CSU Bakersfield, clinching the program's first-ever Division I Big West Championship berth, before recording a goal and an assist in the 2-0 Senior Day shutout over UC Irvine. Oca led all players with five shots against the Anteaters, helping UC San Diego secure second place in the Big West standings and a first-round bye in the Big West Championship.

RAAD RISES TO THE OCCASION
Junior defender Leilah Raad was named UCU Athlete of the Week on Oct. 26 after helping UC San Diego earn two conference victories. Raad scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes to complete a comeback victory over Cal State Fullerton, handing the Titans their first Big West loss of the season and marking the second goal of her career. She also assisted the equalizing goal against Long Beach State, helping the Tritons complete another second-half comeback for their first-ever win over the Beach. Raad played all 90 minutes in both matches, helping UC San Diego continue the best start in program history during the NCAA Division I era.

SHIH SHOOTS, SHIH SCORES
Redshirt freshman Olivia Shih was named Big West Rookie of the Week on Sept. 21 after helping UC San Diego close out non-conference play with a 2-1 victory over LMU. Shih scored her second collegiate goal and recorded her first collegiate assist, including an assist on the game-winning goal. She played 67 minutes and finished with one shot on target to help the Tritons enter Big West play with a 4-2-2 record.

Shih earned her second career Big West Rookie of the Week honor on Oct. 19 after helping the Tritons earn four points in two conference matches. She scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over Sacramento State on Oct. 14 before recording an assist in a 1-1 draw at UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 17. Shih totaled seven shots, with four on target, across the two matches.

ALEXIS ANSWERS THE CALL
Senior midfielder Alexis Nguyen was named UCU Athlete of the Week on Aug. 24 after playing a key role in UC San Diego's unbeaten week. Nguyen helped the Tritons earn a 2-1 victory at UNLV before battling Northern Arizona to a scoreless draw. She scored the game-winning goal against the Rebels and finished the week with five shots, including four on goal, while starting both matches and playing 143 minutes.

FOUR-GOAL FRENZY
UC San Diego scored four goals, including first collegiate goals from Olivia Shih and Regan Ramirez, as the Tritons defeated Utah Tech, 4-2, on Aug. 15 at Triton Soccer Stadium. The four-goal performance marked UC San Diego's most in a match since Aug. 17, 2023, and the most in a home match during the Tritons' NCAA Division I era. Ava Tibor and Lana Gilligan also found the back of the net in the victory.

TRITONS WELCOME NINE NEWCOMERS
UC San Diego women's soccer head coach Kristin Jones '04 has announced the addition of nine newcomers who will join the Tritons' roster for the 2026 season: five transfers and three first-year scholar-athletes. Cadee Borg (Pepperdine), Alissey Fang (UC Irvine), Natalie Oca (LMU), Kiki Vostermans (Cal Poly), and Lauren Zamora (Sarah Lawrence College) will transfer to UC San Diego. First-year Tritons include Maddie Neier, Regan Ramirez, Olivia Schiel, and Claire Tonkin.

FOUR TRITONS CAPTURE BIG WEST HONORS IN 2025
Four UC San Diego scholar-athletes have been honored by The Big West as the conference announced its women's soccer postseason awards. Freshman forward Ava Tibor was selected as The Big West Freshman of the Year by the conference's 11 head coaches and was also named to the Second Team and Freshman Team. Senior back Allie Luo, junior midfielder Alexis Nguyen, and freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert were all named Honorable Mention All-Big West, with Wilfert also earning a spot on the Freshman Team.

Tibor becomes the first UC San Diego women's soccer player to earn a major postseason award since the Tritons moved to NCAA Division I and joined The Big West in 2020. She led all Big West freshmen with six goals, establishing a new UC San Diego Division I-era program record.

RECORD SETTERS RETURN
The 2025 season saw Ava Tibor and Charlotte Wilfert etch their names in the UC San Diego women's soccer record book. Tibor set the program's Division I-era single-season goals record with six goals, while Wilfert established a new career shutouts record with nine. Both record-setting standouts return for the 2026 season, bringing experience and proven production as the Tritons look to build on last year's success.

HEAD COACH KRISTIN JONES '04
Kristin Jones '04 enters her eighth season at the helm of the UC San Diego women's soccer program. A standout player during her time as a Triton, Jones returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2004 before being promoted to associate head coach in 2015 and ultimately taking over as head coach in 2018.

Jones has guided UC San Diego to a 66-52-31 (.540) overall record and a 38-25-19 (.568) mark in conference play. Her tenure began with back-to-back NCAA postseason appearances, including a 19-3-2 campaign in 2018 that resulted in a CCAA championship.

Now in her eighth season, Jones continues to lead the Tritons as they compete in The Big West.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Senior midfielder Alexis Nguyen and junior defender Leilah Raad will serve as team captains for the 2026 season, providing leadership and experience for the Tritons.

UC SAN DIEGO TO THE WCC
UC San Diego will join the West Coast Conference beginning in 2027-28. This season, Triton women's soccer faced a pair of future WCC opponents in Loyola Marymount and Pacific, earning victories over both. UC San Diego defeated Pacific, 2-0, before earning a 2-1 win over LMU.

WHY THE TRITONS?
The Triton is described as the offspring of Poseidon and Amphitrite, a demigod of the sea with a lower part of the body like that of a fish. It is known as a mighty and fierce sea warrior. Given UC San Diego's close proximity to the Pacific Ocean and its connections with the world-famous Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Triton became our mascot in 1964.
