IRVINE, Calif. – The No. 10 UC San Diego women's water polo team dropped their first game of the season to No. 4 UC Irvine 8-1. The Tritons fall to 3-1 while the Anteaters improve to 5-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Triton's offense was not able to click, going scoreless in the first half while the Anteaters scored four.
Sydney Boland was able to get on the board for the Tritons in the third frame on a power play. The Anteaters responded to take a 5-1 lead into the fourth quarter.
UC Irvine continued to put the Triton offense in check and held them scoreless in the fourth while adding three of their own. The Tritons had a penalty shot opportunity in the fourth but
Grace Pevehouse's shot missed.
