Women's Water Polo Hosts California Baptist for Home Opener

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. 10 UC San Diego women's water polo team will welcome No. 21 California Baptist to Canyonview Aquatic Center for their first home games of the season on Saturday, February 27.

ATTENDING THE GAMES
Per the current COVID-19 guidelines set by the state of California, the County of San Diego and the Big West Conference, fans are not permitted to attend home games at Canyonview Aquatic Center. For more information on UC San Diego ticket policies, visit UCSDTritons.com/tickets.
 
COVERING THE TRITONS
Media members wishing to cover a UC San Diego game in-person at Canyonview Aquatic Center this season must notify a member of the Athletics Communication staff no later than 24 hours before start of a contest. All media members will need to complete a UC San Diego symptom screening form on the day of game prior to arriving on campus. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
UC San Diego won a thrilling sudden death overtime contest against crosstown rival No. 17 San Diego State 9-8. Bennett Bugelli recorded a career high 17 saves while Grace Pevehouse scored the golden goal to give the Tritons the win.
 
BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
For her career effort in the goal, Bugelli was named Big West Player of the Week. This is the first time she has earned the honor.

SIZING UP THE LANCERS
California Baptist enters the weekend with a 0-4 record with losses coming from No. 4 UC Irvine and No. 5 ASU. Since 2006, the Tritons are 8-1 over the Lancers. Their last meeting was a 14-4 win for the Tritons in 2019.

Grace Pevehouse (144) and Ciara Franke (123) have scored over 100 goals in their careers. Next closest player is Jessee Ransone with 62.
 
RECORD WATCH

With 456 career saves, Bennett Bugelli needs 13 more to crack the top ten. Currently, Allie Taylor ranks 10th with 469 saves.
