Women’s Water Polo Announces 2022 Schedule

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego women's water polo team has announced its schedule for the 2022 season. The upcoming season will feature seven tournaments, five conference games and four additional non-conference match-ups. The Big West Championships will take place April 22-24 with the winner receiving an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

"I am beyond excited to get back to a normal schedule after what we've been through the past two years," said UC San Diego head coach Brad Kreutzkamp. "I couldn't be happier to once again host the Triton Invite, which is one of the best water polo weekends in the nation.  Traveling to Hawai'i twice in the same season will certainly present a challenge and playing our first real Big West schedule will be immensely difficult, but I honestly think we have the depth and talent to keep up with anybody."

The Tritons open the season at the UC Santa Barbara Invite. The tournament will take place from January 22-23.

UC San Diego will host the annual Triton Invitational on February 12-13. The following week, the Tritons will go on the road to Redlands for the Bulldog Invite before competing at the UCI Invite in Irvine.

Conference action will begin Saturday, March 5 when UC San Diego hosts CSUN at Canyonview Aquatic Center.

The Big West Championships will be hosted by the University of Hawai'i in in Honolulu. Last season, the Tritons hosted the Big West Championships, reaching the tournament semifinal.

Kreutzkamp enters his 13th season at the helm of the program. With a record of 244-169, Kreutzkamp is a five-time ACWPC National Coach of the Year and five-time WWPA Coach of the Year.
