SAN DIEGO – The UC San Diego women's tennis team competed against some hefty competition over the course of this past weekend in the ITA Regional Championships taking place at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego. The tournament ran from Thursday-Monday, Oct. 21-25 and highlighted many impressive competitors from Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12, and WCC schools.
Although the Tritons were faced with tough competition the past four days, UC San Diego took three out of four doubles matches day one. Ella Pachl won both a doubles and singles match on the first day while Adriana Tabares earned a singles victory in her very first match as a Triton.
Freshman Katelyn Vu earned singles victories in all her matches on both the second and third day
Pepperdine University's Lisa Zaar took home the singles championship while UCLA's Elise Wagle and Vanessa Ong captured the doubles victory.
