LOS ANGELES—The UC San Diego swimming team wrapped up day two at the USC Invitational, while the diving team competed in the Lancer Invite hosted by California Baptist.

The Tritons men's and women's swimming team finished fourth in overall points, with strong performances from the men's relay teams and several podium finishes in the individual events.
Kyland Parenti and
Isabella Perez turned in the top performances for the diving team in their first competition of the season.

MEN
It was a strong day for the men's relay teams with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:20.10 for
Tyler James,
Nate Cunnan,
Andrija Petkovic,
Spencer Daily. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Daily, James,
Andrija Petkovic and
Ivan Kurakin earned a third-place finish with a time of 2:57.29 and the 200-yard medley relay finished .10 seconds off the podium in fourth place with a time of 1:28.16.

Individually, James turned in the top performance with a second-place finish (1:47.09) in the 200-yard backstroke, while Daily and Kurakin earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (47.51) and 200-yard freestyle (1:37.08) respectively.

WOMEN
Juli Arzave earned a second-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:36.88 and
Alana Barthel placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.30.Â

The women's 200-yard medley relay team also finished just off the podium by .24 seconds with a time of 1:40.74 for
Jordan Phillips,
Katja Pavicevic,
Miranda Renner and
Brittney Miles.

DIVING
The Tritons got a pair of fifth place finishes in the men's and women's 1-meter from
Kyland Parenti (261.30) and
Isabella Perez (214.88). The pair also earned the top UC San Diego finishes in the men's and women's 3-meter with an eighth-place finish for Parenti (246.53) and 12th for Perez (174.30).

UP NEXT
The Tritons will host their first home meet of the season, facing Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. (PT). It will be the first of three-straight home meets hosted at Canyonview Aquatic Center.
