LA JOLLA, Calif. – Throughout the spring, UC San Diego Athletics will be taking a look back at the greatest moments and accomplishments from the 2019-20 school year. Each Thursday, a Throwback Thursday segment will be featured on UC San Diego Athletics' Instagram and Twitter accounts.
This week, UC San Diego Athletics is highlighting the men's tennis team's pair of upsets in Hawaii this season.
The Tritons opened their Hawaii trip on Feb. 14, facing No. 10 Hawaii Hilo. UC San Diego secured the doubles point, but during singles, the two teams eventually were locked in a 3-3 tie. It all came down to fifth singles, and
Sreeganesh Manoharan was victorious, 7-5, 6-0, to clinch the 4-3 upset.
UC San Diego continued its success when it faced No. 9 Hawaii Pacific the next day. The Tritons set the tone early, claiming the doubles point, and ultimately came away with a 4-2 win over the Sharks.
