SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC San Diego (8-12) faced No. 32 UC Santa Barbara (13-5) at the Arnhold Tennis Center for a conference match resulting in 2-4 loss. The Tritons move to 0-2 in conference play, the Gauchos to 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Santa Barbara claimed the doubles point with a win at No. 2 and 3. No. 2 finished first with
Prathinav Chunduru and
Andrew Beceiro ending 2-6.
Trevor Nguyen and
Abhinav Chunduru took the No. 1 court 7-6(4) to force a tiebreaker on the third court. On No. 3 the Triton pair of
Oliver Worth and
Yaron Guberman dropped a close set, 7-6(5).

In singles play, the Tritons claimed victory on the No. 5 and 6 courts. On No. 6 Beceiro had a decisive straight-set win, 6-1, 6-2. On No. 5 Guberman won his court in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.

At No. 1 Worth was defeated by a ranked opponent in two sets, 2-6, 5-7. P. Chunduru played on No. 2 battling through a close two set loss, 2-6, 6-7(5). Another Gaucho point came at No. 4 where A. Chunduru finished with a scoreline of 5-7, 1-6. No. 3, with Nguyen, was left unfinished in the second set 4-6, 6-5.
