KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  UC San Diego sophomore guard
Tyrell Roberts has been named to the 2020 Bevo Francis Award top 50 watch list. This list consists of some of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA.

Roberts is having a memorable campaign thus far for the Tritons. He has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week twice in the last four weeks. The Sacramento, Calif. native leads the CCAA in scoring (18.7 points per game) and 3-point field goals per game at 3.5. In conference play, he is the CCAA's leading scorer at 19.0 points per game and is tops in 3-point field goal percentage at 47.4% and free throw percentage (88.3%).

The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements.

On March 15th, the Top 25 players will be announced. On April 4th, the finalists will be announced with the Bevo Francis Award winner being crowned on April 6th.

Roberts and the fourth-ranked Tritons host Cal State LA on Senior Night Saturday at 8 p.m. inside RIMAC Arena. UC San Diego will seek its program-record 16th consecutive victory. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.
